The store manager is expected to oversee the day to day running of the shop while providing training and support for all team members. This position is under the supervision and direction of the General Manager.

  • Communicate with the general manager

  • Provide feedback, consultation, and new ideas as to how the business can be run more effectively

  • Get feedback from staff on your leadership with quarterly surveys

  • Oversee team members

    • Monitor, coach and counsel

    • Complete quarterly reviews with all team members (once every 30 days for two months with newly hired team members)

    • Create performance improvement plans with team members when needed

  • Delegate projects and ensure that all team members are on task

    • Ensure new task sheets are put out daily and weekly

    • Ensure appropriate and timely completion of projects

    • Follow up with weekly task sheets and project lists, ensure they are completed fully with date and initial beside each task/project

    • Confirm weekly that project lists are up to date and prioritized

  • Empower all team members to take control of their responsibilities

  • Be attentive to team member needs

    • Openly accept feedback and criticism

  • Set-up sales contests and incentives for staff

  • Set-up morning trainings and seasonal clinics for shop

    • Communicate with vendor reps. to set up clinics for new staff and products

  • Lead weekly full-timers meeting

  • Help facilitate monthly staff meeting along with GM

  • Schedule weekly lunch meeting with the GM

  • Create staff schedule two weeks in advance

    • Keep track of sick days and vacation time for full time employees


  • Set the example as a leader of excellent customer service

  • Be the intermediary between staff and customers when needed

  • Write checks for customer cash refunds over $10

  • Assist customers when they have questions, concerns, or complaints

    • Address all issues in a professional manner


  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

    • Oversee performance plans and termination with input, as needed, from GM

  • Complete store operational requirements

    • Schedule and assign daily locations for employees

  • Make bank runs for change, petty cash, and deposits

  • Complete payroll

  • Handle confidential matters and follow up when necessary


  • Be available on sales floor from 12-4pm

    • Flex remaining 4 hours during shop hours between office and floor to ensure all responsibilities are met (9:30 to 6, 10 to 6:30 or 11 to 7:30)

  • Work two closing shifts per week (applies to weekdays)

  • Work two weekends per month, preferably every other weekend
