Jumbo Wild is a gripping, hour-long documentary film by Sweetgrass Productions that tells the true story of the decades-long battle over the future of British Columbia’s iconic Jumbo Valley and highlights the tension between the protection of wilderness and the backcountry experience and ever-increasing development interests in wild places. Set against a backdrop of incredible backcountry ski and snowboard footage, Jumbo Wild documents all sides of a divisive issue bringing the passionate local fight to protect the Jumbo Valley to life for the first time. Clothing Swap - How Does It Work?
Bring a bag of clothing (ones that you would normally take to the thrift shop, for example) and come to the swap! Sort your items into the designated piles (our team will be happy to assist!), e.g. “men’s shirts” or “women’s pants”. Once your clothes are in their appropriate piles, it’s time to “go shopping”! Everything you take, is free. We ask that you be kind – body-positive comments only, and be mindful of the supply – we want everyone to have a good time and find new treasures to take home. Leftover items will be donated to a local thrift store.
Still have questions? Here's our Clothing Swap Q&A!
What types of items can I bring?
Bring any clean, used clothing that you might normally take to a thrift shop. It can be any style of clothing from dresses and slacks to hiking attire! Accessories like purses, backpacks, and light camping gear are also welcome as well as shoes! No load bearing rock climbing equipment or safety helmets please. The event is Co-ed, and all ages, so men's, women's and children's clothing are all great!
How much should I bring?
One bag of items is a good amount, but it is really up to you. If you don't have any clothing to offer, just bring a $5 donation instead! All proceeds got to Learning Outside. You do not need to bring items on hangers.
How does the "shopping" work?
When you arrive we will help you sort your items into the designated piles e.g. “men’s shirts” or “women’s pants”. Once your clothes are in their appropriate piles, it’s time to “go shopping”! Everything you take is free. We ask that you be kind – body-positive comments only, and be mindful of the supply – we want everyone to have a good time and find new treasures to take home.
What happens to the leftover items?
Leftover items will be donated to a local thrift store.
