Alex was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, where he spent most of his childhood playing army in the woods with his friends and siblings as part of a rigorous home school curriculum. After studying and teaching Spanish everywhere from Spain, Vermont, and Argentina, to El Salvador and, most recently, New Jersey, he has moved south to Carrboro to return to his first love: getting lost in the woods with awesome people. Come say hi to Alex and ask him why he recommends always having a good flashlight and adequate rain layer while adventuring in the wilderness.
